The recess around the water container valve is a collection point for water droplets which collect over time as a result of the water container being removed. The collection point prevents water running down the side of the appliance.
This is not a fault.
Wipe this area dry regularly with a clean piece of kitchen roll.
If more water is leaking from the water container:
- Clean and dry the outside of the dispensing valve under the water container.
- Clean the water container in the dishwasher or by hand using warm water and a little washing-up liquid.
- Carefully clean and dry the surface the water container sits on, particularly the recesses.
For appliances from serial number 152922013 onwards:
- Check the filter in the water intake valve. The filter in the water intake valve is located in the recess for the water container.
- Clean the filter if it is dirty. - Remove the water container.

- The water container filter is located under the water container.

- Unscrew the cap.
- Remove the sealing ring and the filter.
- Clean the parts by hand. To avoid the risk of unpleasant flavours, clean the filter with water only; do not use cleaning agents.
- Rinse all parts carefully under running water.
- First replace the filter (with the cross facing upwards).
- Insert the sealing ring. The opening of the sealing ring should face downwards.
- Screw the cap back on tightly.
- Push the water container back into the machine.
